Jerome Hass

 Portfolio Manager

Jerome joined Lightwater as a Portfolio Manager in 2007 and has over 30 years experience in the financial industry. Previously, he worked as a Portfolio Manager at a prominent Canadian hedge fund and Montrusco Bolton Investments. Mr. Hass also worked as a Portfolio Manager in London, England for Canada Life Assurance Company. He started on the buy-side at Scottish Amicable Investment Managers in Scotland. Mr. Hass also worked as a sell-side Analyst with HSBC Investment Bank in Singapore and Malaysia. He began his career as an Economist with the Ministry of Finance. He holds a Bachelor degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario, a Master of Arts in Applied Economics from the University of Victoria as well as a Master of Science degree in Economics from the London School of Economics.  Jerome obtained a Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) designation in 1998 and he dropped the designation in 2019.

John W. King

John King joined the Board of Lightwater Partners in 2025. John is an experienced executive with a history of working in the financial and business services industries.  He is a professional skilled in leading teams through growth and change and creating sustainable and scalable organizations.

Andy Maclean

 Director

Andy MacLean, CFA, joined the Lightwater Board in 2025.  Andy is a seasoned investment professional with over 35 years of experience specializing in portfolio management, global investment strategy, and risk management.  With a career spanning both top-tier financial institutions and boutique firms, Andy has built a reputation for delivering results in complex and dynamic market environments, making him an invaluable asset to Lightwater Partners.

Throughout his career, Andy has demonstrated expertise in developing and managing high-performing portfolios across equity, fixed income, and alternative investments.  He has successfully managed equity portfolios and supervised fixed income mandates, consistently outperforming benchmarks.  Apart from his experience in portfolio management he’s set firm-wide global investment strategy, including asset allocation, macroeconomic analysis, and security recommendations, while leading investment committees and producing high-impact strategy reports. 

His ability to identify opportunities and craft tailored strategies has been a hallmark of his career, alongside his expertise in structured product development and alternative investment solutions. 

With extensive experience in client engagement, Andy has been a trusted voice in the financial industry, frequently appearing in media and delivering compelling presentations to investors and stakeholders.  His leadership skills are further underscored by his experience managing teams of investment professionals and chairing critical investment policy committees. 

Andy is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Economics and Political Science from the University of Ottawa.
